Felix Mayer *1990 in Donaueschingen, is active as a trombonist, composer and sound artist in the field of experimental music. In bands, collectives and ad-hoc groups, he explores the boundaries of improvisational and instrumental practice. In composed works he deals with alternative notation such as text and game pieces, video scores and improvisation concepts. He also works in interdisciplinary contexts with dance, theatre and performance and organises the concert series "sonopol". In installative, site-specific works, he deals with the possibilities of the success of communication, connection and relationship via (always) alienating aids. Starting from pandemic-related shifts and alienations as well as the experiences of isolation and the confrontation with the relationship between closeness and distance, he explores, among other things, the possibilities that arise through the processing and transformation of sound material with tin can telephones.
Felix Mayer *1990 in Donaueschingen, ist als Posaunist, Komponist und Klangkünstler aktiv im Bereich der experimentellen Musik. In Bands, Kollektiven und ad-hoc Gruppierungen lotet er Grenzen improvisatorischer und instrumentaler Praxis aus. Als Komponist beschäftigt er sich mit alternativen Notationsmöglichkeiten wie Text- und Game Pieces, Video- Partituren und Improvisationskonzepten. Darüber hinaus arbeitet er in interdisziplinären Kontexten mit Tanz, Theater und Performance und organisiert die Konzertreihe “sonopol”. In installativen, ortsspezifischen Arbeiten beschäftigt er sich mit den Möglichkeiten des Gelingens von Kommunikation, Verbindung und Beziehung über (immer) verfremdende Hilfsmittel. Ausgehend von pandemiebedingten Verschiebungen und Verfremdungen sowie den Erfahrungen von Isolation, Vereinzelung und des Auseinandersetzens mit dem Verhältnis von Nähe und Distanz, erforscht er unter anderem die Möglichkeiten, die sich durch Bearbeitung, Verfremdung und Gestaltung von Klangmaterial mit Dosentelefonen ergeben.
